LOVE STORY

The Beginning

Matheus and Carolina met on March 11, 2019. Their chance meeting occurred while working as servers for VIP Catering at a wedding. They instantly felt a connection amidst the enchantment of that wedding celebration. Their fondness for each other grew as they continued to work the same festive events.

First Date

Matheus and Carolina’s first date was on March 31, 2019. They spent the day at the beach in Boca Raton, Florida. They enjoyed a picnic lunch, laughed and swapped stories about growing up in Brazil. Later in the afternoon, Matheus and Carolina joined friends also at the beach.

Surprise High School Prom Proposal

During their first date, Matheus surprised Carolina with a prom proposal. To prepare for the surprise, Matheus left the beach under the disguise of running errands. Carolina remained at the beach with their friends because she knew Matheus would be returning.

Barbara, one of their friends, helped Matheus coordinate the timing of the surprise. Matheus called Barbara when his surprise was set up. At that time, Barbara asked Carolina to walk on the boardwalk with her. Unbeknownst to Carolina, they were heading toward Matheus’s surprise. He soon joined them, giving Carolina a bouquet of flowers. Then he led her toward a display of candles spelling out PROM. He kneeled and asked Carolina to be his date for his senior prom.

Carolina recalls, “Our first date was a radiant day at the beach.” “The hours we spent together drifted by seamlessly.” “As the day waned and the golden hues of a sunset painted sky, Matheus surprised me with an unforgettable prom proposal.” “I said yes.” And the rest is history!

I LOVE YOU

After 3-months of dating, Matheus told Carolina, he loved her. Carolina immediately reciprocated. What Carolina loves most about Matheus is his unwavering support and understanding. Matheus said, “I relish how she makes me feel loved and appreciated.”

SURPRISE ENGAGEMENT PROPOSAL

Matheus proposed to Carolina on Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Royal Palm Place in Boca Raton, Florida, in front of an Italian-style fountain.

Beverly Diane Party Consultants planned the surprise proposal. Beverly and Matheus selected the location for its beauty, charm and aesthetics. Even though the Royal Palm Place is a popular outdoor shopping Center in Boca Raton, it has the look and feel of a small European town. The Center was decorated for the Christmas holidays, adding to the proposal’s atmosphere. The proposal occurred at 4:30 p.m. to minimize onlookers and holiday shoppers.

Carolina thought she was at the Center to go holiday shopping with Beverly Diane, a friend and colleague. She had no idea Matheus was waiting at the Center’s fountain, where Beverly had staged a photographer to capture the surprise proposal.

When Matheus proposed to Carolina, he gave her a gorgeous bouquet of red roses and an oval-shaped diamond in a brilliant white gold setting.

“It was surreal,” said Caroline. “I saw Matheus from a distance, and as I approached him, he bent one knee to the floor and asked to marry me.”

Jonathan Mavila Photography captured the surprise proposal. He then took the couple’s engagement pictures at the nearby Mizner Park in Boca Raton. “We love the Mediterranean aesthetics of the park,” said Carolina.

After the engagement session, Matheus and Carolina continued celebrating. They had dinner at the Mastro’s Ocean Club in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Afterward, they saw a show featuring the stand-up comedian John Mulaney at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

The next evening, they announced their engagement to their parents and celebrated with them by sharing a bottle of Dom Perignon.

ATTIRE

Carolina was dressed in a gray dress and wore a black leather jacket. She finished her look with black boots.

Matheus wore a black Italian suit.
